SHIPOWNERS The technical and nautical management of the HANSA TREUHAND fleet is largely handled by the shipping company HANSA SHIPPING and also by the shipping company LEONHARDT & BLUMBERG SCHIFFAHRTSGESELLSCHAFT. The president and CEO of HANSA TREUHAND, Hermann Ebel, holds a 25% share in the company. Other ships are managed by external partners. Furthermore, HANSA TREUHAND acts as a tramp owner, i.e. the company “rents out” ships to other shipping lines. In the selection of charterers, particular attention is paid to their creditworthiness. The rating of the Dutch Dynamar agency, which assigns marks for creditworthiness ranging from 1 (high credit standing) to 10 (low credit standing), serves as an indication of creditworthiness. The HANSA TREUHAND group aims to do business only with charterers whose credit rating is between 1 and 3.
BANKS The ships in the HANSA TREUHAND fleet enjoy sound financial backing. Debt capital is provided by big banks, ship mortgage banks and the state banks of Germany’s coastal states. Thanks to its conservative financing structure, high earning power and substantial unscheduled repayments, banks are willing to grant HANSA TREUHAND very favourable terms. The low cost of borrowing resulting from this mutual trust built up over many years therefore benefits all of the company’s investors. |
